Background
Glen has been actively investing since 2014 after attending a value investing course.
However as time passes, he realised that he had no system to screen, enter and exit for his trades. He did not get to learn how to fish for his meals but relied heavily on others for his investments.
He managed to earn an average 20% returns from 2014-2019, but eventually wiped it all out when he went in big (because his seniors told him too) on trading oil ETN which halted its creations and share prices plunged.
Determined to recoup back his losses, he attended the Systematic Traders preview where he learnt that there's actually a system where he can screen for strong stocks and know exactly when to enter and exit a trade.
He graduated from the SMT course in May 2020 and in <2 weeks, he recovered more than his course fees from his stock holdings.
And again in August, he saw a net increase of more than 100% to his portfolio— exceeding his goal of 20% average ROI within just 4 months. He then realized his net profits and withdrew some of it to pay off his wedding preparations.
The Results
As of 2021, he has successfully created a strong 2nd stream of income for himself despite the global pandemic in 2020.
He is still attending our weekly live webinars and giving back to the community by sharing his journey, insights and experiences in our close-knit Facebook group.
He has also set a goal to achieve more than S$100K worth of investment portfolio by year end. He said,
"I guess I'm not far away from the goal after 1st week of 2021 and will have to review my goals again for higher targets. To conclude my journey with SMT, trading is a lifelong habit and it's better to find a systematic way so you can be consistent throughout this habit for long term success."
